Nice 4Runner! What made you decide to change out the tires? I know the Contis are quiet tires and have a good ride quality. Did it improve the ride quality? I'd like to find some replacements for the factory Bridgestone that I find are too harsh, noisy and skinny. Thanks in advance.
I thought the b-stones were way too skinny. It's a great truck, but on stilts. I wanted the Michelen M/S 2s, but after calling the Michelin corporate line, the rep told me not to mount the tire. It was designed for a 7.5-9.5" rim, not a 7, plain and simple. The cont. crosscontact XL are quiet, long-lasting, balance perfectly, and will last at least twice as long comparatively, plus Discount Tire gave me $75 per tire trade-in even after 2500 miles. They make the truck look as they should too...squatty and sure footed like my '08 limited.
No change in ride quality on highway or city. The best part is that I don't have to worry about the speedometer or other nav issues because it only makes a difference after 90.2 mph or something close.
