So I just got a 2011, and everything is still stock. Being a noob to all this, can somebody tell me what all you need to get this look? Besides the obvious tires and lift, I keep hearing about spacers as well. Can somebody literally make a list of the components and ballpark cost? (or point me to a thread that lays it all out for somebody who knows nothing) I've read a ton of threads on here and still feel like I don't know anything since I don't understand quite a bit of what the hell you guys are talking about.

We got a Trail Edition in February and loved it so much we just picked up an SR5 to be the wifes "truck". Hands down; the T4R is the best vehicle I've driven.

Her T4R will stay stock. I hope to put a 3" lift, 33's and a Defiant lightbar with lights (after the re-design) on mine sometime down the road.

Finally got pics of my 2011 trail ed salsa red.have belstein set @ .85 up front and still stock on the rear.17x8 mojaves wrapped in nitto terra grappler 265/70/17.stayed in the stock size tire for now.

Not much to choose in terms of TE color in my area at the time of purchase.Thought i can go with the black and red combination and keep it simple.:thanks:

In this part of the world (Calgary), Salsa Red is a really rare color for the Trail Edition. Nice looking truck!:thumb3:

For the most part we always want the color we don't have.Out of the box the T4r is just hands down takes my vote on the design exteriorwise. Whatever color you have and mods you make, the T4r does not only look good.It makes you look good picking the right true SUV body on frame truck that is almost a guarantee to get you 200k miles w/o major issues that might make you think of trading in before your warranty expires.IMO, you cant say that on other brands out there.Your build is awesome and black is sleek and Badass!:thumb3:

Hi,

Here are some pictures showing my modification of running boards on my 2011 4runner. I cut 6 pieces of heavy duty shelving (like the kind at Home Depot) to make extensions for the running boards to sit on. I pulled them out as far as I could. I used the bolts and nuts that came with the original running boards. Now I can place my whole foot on the running board.
