5th Gen TRD-Off Road to TRD Pro suspension swap questions

Hey ya'll,
A member on here offered me a deal I can't refuse on his stock TRD-Pro suspension he took off his truck, My plan is to install it along with a leveling spacer on the front to make her sit nice and purrdy, I've seen all of the posts on TRD Pro swaps but seem to only get "the dealer did it" answers from searching the forum. (And nothing about also adding a leveling spacer) NON-KDSS if that matters.

So the big question is- Do I need new UCA's? I plan on getting them eventually anyways, but are they required for even tire wear / tracking? I can't seem to locate if there is a difference between trail / TRD off road and the TRD-Pro's...

Also anything else I should look out for during the swap? I was planning on the TRD-Pro rims as well but have grown fond of the Off-Road rims I have so plan on just wheel spacers for now.

Thanks ya'll!

No new UCA's necessary. The TRD Pro has the same OEM UCA's as everyone else. Just to make sure, you realize that the TRD Pro already has approximately a 1" leveling lift built in. If you add another top leveling spacer you will be close to a reverse rake. If that's what you are going for then do it, just wanted to be sure you understand what will be the likely result. Any lift 2" or under the stock UCA's should easily get you back into spec with a decent alignment tech.

+1 on them having the same UCAs across these trims. I'm interested to hear how this goes for you.

I don't know why more don't do this. The Pro suspension was engineered specifically for this truck, and it rides much better than most of the aftermarket suspensions because of this. Even the high end coilovers can feel too rough and harsh on-road. The softer spring and the well-engineered valving in the Pro suspension makes it a great for a daily driver that likes to get off the pavement. I can understand the serious rock-crawlers or long-travel guys need something more purpose-built. The vast majority would be better served with the Pro suspension with or without a spacer. I'm sure the cost from Toyota is part of the issue here.

Good luck. Please post as you go.

Perfect, thanks all!

I will deff post pictures when I get around to the install! Wont be till mid - end of may though. From what the seller said it will still sit slightly raked, and recommended a set of spacers specifically designed for the TRD-Pro to level it.

As far as why most people don't do it, I think it's the price Toyota gives you, if I didn't get a deeply discounted price I would go another route, so if you find someone selling off a Pro and they give you a good deal like I'm getting it seems worth it, but for what it is I would never pay Toyota prices!

Just to be clear, the Standard Pro Is leveled as far as the frame. If you add the spacers you will be fender level, but if you put any sort of load in the back you'll be nose high. If you go that route please remember to re-adjust your headlights for all of the other drivers.

I know this thread is old but I'm hoping someone can shed some light on it. Are the 5th Gen TRD PRO, TRD Off Road, Trail and SR5 all different? Also, seems like some people are saying you need to modify the fittings and some aren't. Is it plug-and-play or would I have to modify something?

I found 2018 TRD Off Road suspension (shocks & coils) for sale. Would that fit my 07 SR5? Would I need to file some mount or am I just buying new bushings, or both? Would I get any lift?

Thanks!
