I know we're all waiting for the 6th gen 4R and 4R Pro. One thing that I would like to see are some new variants of the Pro edition. What I mean but this is kind of how Jeep has multiple variants of the their Wrangler. So I know the 4R has base, SR5, Limited, Off-Road etc but I'm referring to more how Jeep has the Rubicon which is their top of the line and how the 4Runner Pro is the top of the line. So both have part time 4WD systems. What if the 6th gen 4Runner has another trim above the Limited but below the Pro. It would use the same full time 4WD system as the Limited but have all of the bits and pieces of the Pro edition like how the Wrangler Moab edition uses the Sahara trim but makes it look like the Rubicon trim. Of course, it could differentiate it a little more with different wheels and such but I think that would give people more options thus ultimately bringing in more potential buyers.
The cool thing is because some people want 4WD but some people like having the full time 4WD rather than the part time 4WD. I know this does make it as hard core as the 4WD system in the Pro trim but now a days, most people buying these Off-road trims such as the Rubicon or Pro trim don't see any off-road action at all. I know these buyers in general see more off-road action than say an Escalade buyer but still it's not 100% so why not offer more variants to fit the needs and wants of more buyers.
....and I've got a name...... So we have the 4Runner Pro. I hear Pro and I think like a pro athlete. So how about if the edition that slots in between the Limited and Pro is called the Varsity trim so it would kind of be naming it like how an athlete progresses to being a pro athlete. Corny but I like it.
