7.2 Purchase! My reasons...

I’ve decided to purchase the Sonoran Steel 7.2 lift for my daily driver. The following reasons are based on previous threads from here and Yotatech. If my reasoning’s aren’t accurate please correct me if I’m wrong.

• 7.2 is a 3” lift
• 7.2 front and rear are almost level (rear is a bit higher)
• 7.2 is comfortable for daily driving
• 7.2 can hang with the best off-road
• Do it right the first time!

I know people will say that it’s more than I need; however I want quality on-road and off-road. Plus I still have to please the wife and if the ride is harsh for daily driving she will be pissed cause I lied to her.

If you didn’t understand my needs they’re a 3” level lift, DD comfort, and capable for off-road use.

Good choice, you'll be happy. In a couple years, I'm going to lift mine with a complete SS kit, and put on some 33's.

I have a SS 1.2 Kit and am quite happy. I am curious why you are buying the 7.2 for $1270 and not the 1.2 for $1270. The website clearly says

"This lift kit is perfect for a truck with stock front and rear bumpers. If someday you build your truck up to the level of the System 1 kit, you can buy just the parts to upgrade System 7 to System 1.2."

IMO, the way Steve phrased this is a little misleading. You can put the 1.2 on a bare bones truck. You don't need a custom bumper. I put mine on when I had nothing but stock and it was great.

If you get the 7.2 and want to upgrade down the road you will have to purchase all new parts for several hundred dollars and then install the lift all over again or pay $$ to have upgrade done.

To me this makes no sense. I think the only reason Steve sells the 7.2 is because some customers are like "the 1.2 looks too intense, too lifted"

Also, the 7.2 is NOT 3" lift. I thought it was a 1.5" lift but could be wrong. && Why go for the OME instead of Tundra and Land Cruiser springs which are a higher quality part and HAVE NO SAG. Before someone jumps on me, I have had the SS 1.2 for 3 years and have yet to experience any SAG whatsoever.

RE: Ride quality ... actually the 1.2 ride is AMAZING in the city, very nice better than most other stock vehicles. This is another reason I bought a SS btw.


If you haven't already had the order shipped, call Steve and change your order to a 1.2, he is a nice guy and will let you change it or at the minimum take the time to explain the differences.


BTW most of the SS lifts on this site are 1.2 not 7.2
