85 4runner OME lift question

Ok, so I bit the bullet and bought a complete OME lift for my '85. I am happy with what I wound up with. This first pic is what I started with on 31's:

I am still working on the truck, it is not on the road yet, The only driving has been up and down my drive. However I went under the truck to work on something else, I discovered this:



I know it is not right, its shackle against frame. I tried to mimic the old toyota shackles when I did the install. I now notice that the left (inside) shackle above has a notch in it. Was that a reference point? It looks like I need to flip the shackles upside down from how I have them. Not sure why I didn't pick this up when I did the install but now I need to correct this any help/suggestions before I tear it down again? be gentle guys, my first lift install. thx Bill

Looks to me like the inside shackle has a different bend in it. I don't think you need to flip them, I think you need to swap them.

Yes, swap the inside one for the outside one and I think you'll solve your problem.

Was the old shackle doing the same thing? The one side plate has the bolts pressed into correct?
My 85 has the same issue on the right side. Was thinking maybe the frame or front hanger was tweaked. Have had a chance to dive into it.

I'm ordering this lift kit soon. Have you had any problems with the drive line and pinion angle?

Shackle re-do

Thank you guys for your replies you gave me some options, here is what I found out. I got a chance to take the passenger side apart and put the shackle halves side by side

So it wasn't that, even though it seemed likely. With the OME shackles, one side is threaded and that side is designed to face the outside of the truck to allow easy greasing with the zerk fitting. What I did was to unscrew the bolts and reinstall them to the other side. The picture above shows the bolts how I first (incorrectly) had installed them. When corrected, the bolts are coming through the left side of the same shackle. I hope I explained that properly since I didn't take a picture. Here is the corrected version

Better than it was, now I have a small 3/8" clearance between the frame. From the side the shackle angle is
So that is going to be as good as it gets

I bought the lift from Low Range Offroad they ran a special sale for cyber Monday. It took better than a month and a few phone call before I got it though.

Front angle looks good, can't be sure about the rear without a pic of the other end. But if you don't have any vibrations it must be good.
