8th Annual Northeast Run

where in NYC do you live/leave from.....I have been dying to go to a meet and this seems like the perfect first meet to attend....after much work I finally got my rig modded up enough where I can do some wheeling....

I live in manhattan, mid town east to be exact. Yeah it's a great meet I went last year for the first time and had a blast,met a bunch of really cool people and another great toyota community to be a part of. We will most likely be leaving Wednesday night and I'll be meeting up with [MENTION=76550]cbielat[/MENTION] somewhere in NJ along the way and I'm not sure who else. Most everybody else is coming Thursday. Your more than welcome to caravan down with us.

Also we go out on a lot of day runs in NJ and CT if you ever wanna come wheel with sometime. Usually more on the weekend Sat,Sun but we go to some pretty good spots.

I was just saying that, I wish i had a nice heated garage i could fit in so i could work on my truck whenever i wanted to! My mod list is ever growing for when it gets a little warmer out and in prep for FJNE:hungry:

Yes man definitely do! We go out pretty ofter during wheeling season usually NJ,CT,MA and this summer were going to trying to do a couple 4-5 day/long weekend trips up to VT and NH. Absolutely we meet up and do mod days also. My buddy [MENTION=77033]J053619[/MENTION] in NJ has a huge whare house were he works that we mod at sometimes or my other buddy in CT. Other than that I don't really have a space in NYC I usually do the rest of my work upstate where I'm from.

Yeah I mean even if you come down and don't wheel it every day you can always hope in and ride along with one of us.

Rattle. Cat converter heat shield is loose. Cut it off. Go wheel.

Other extremely descriptive 4runner words for maintenance issues you might want to use, thump, clunk, click, clack.

Just booked my camp site at t14 so ill be there early friday in order to wheel Friday. Also got notification my whiteknuckle sliders just shipped so im going to take off my running boards tomorrow! Might get a new battery since my current one doesnt' seem like it's handling my new audio setup too well, plus i still gotta install my 50" light bar and led pods. Maybe a dual battery install before then? Shit just remembered I want to get a CB radio, man this forum is going to be the end of my wallet lol

Glad to see some familiar faces are going (Jared, Chris & Charlie) I'm trying to convince Mike to come through friday as well. Can't wait for this trip, May can't get here fast enough!

Nice bro! It's going to be a lot of fun. That's awesome, are you have them powder coated with the same company that did our bumpers? Let me know if you need help on the instal also? Get a Die hard Platinum from sears i hear their good batteries and probably what i'll upgrade to when i do my dual set up. Def try to get a CB before the run just because that's usually how we all communicate and you'll see come Saturday the main day of the run the groups get pretty big and it's easy to get a little separated so it's important to be able to radio ahead or backwards if need be! Don't be like [MENTION=76550]cbielat[/MENTION] who's had a CB for like a year and still hasn't installed it :flamethrwoer2::jk:lol If you peice it together over time it doesn't hurt as much haha at least that's what i keep telling myself but i think i'm just in denialhwell: that's ok we could have worse addictions.

Yeah man it's gonna be sick i know so many people that are coming this year it's definitely going to be one for the books!

It's going to be quite the Toyota invasion. The jeeps will think they took a wrong turn.

Actually, I'm trying to race the clock and attempt to get the 4th gen trail ready. Skid plates, 33", Budbuilt winch mount , lockers. If I do that, I may just take the 4th gen down. This will let me take the kiddos and wife down for the ride instead of leaving them behind. I couldn't do 10hrs of driving with a heavy trailer, with screaming, crying, nagging, pee breaks, diaper breaks, otherwise. Happy wife, happy life.

Can the V6 handle the load? Probably with the bigger tube hitch and back to stock size tires. the setup weighs about 6000# . Combined I was about 11000#. 4Runners don't have a tow mode. Aha ,Yes it is, I love 1st Gens and definitely plan on building one in the future and making it strictly a wheeling rig. My 4th gen now is being build as more of a expo rig :thumb:

Yes i know it's going to be a big run this year! Last year was big with i think close to 100 rigs so i'm sure this year is going to be bigger. That's also the reason why me and [MENTION=76550]cbielat[/MENTION] are trying to get there Wednesday night so we can get a couple good wheeling days in before the main day on Saturday, cause i remember last year on the main day there was so many tucks so the groups were pretty big and usually all skill levels so things can move a little slower than some may like as with any big group in the woods. But its all good:surfer:

That's quite a bit to get done before the run! You'll be fine with out the lockers if you just get a little armor and tires. I've been running with open diff from day one and hang with some pretty built and capable rigs! Actually i'm usually the only one that's not locked hwell: But that's in my future as well! I actually have something in the works but probably won't be happening before this run. These trucks are still super capable with open diffs though! I've made it thru almost everything with everybody i wheel and guys are always surprised how well the 4runner is off road with open diffs so i know when it's locked this truck is going to be a beast! I also plan to re gear to 4.56s so that will make a big difference to also with the towing you were talking about above.

My wife wants no part of wheeling and camping in the woods for 4-5 days haha:drama: She's not as much of a out doors women as i would like but that's cool cause then it lets the boys have time to play and do our own thing. So i may bring my boys if i can work it out with the school schedule? Yes you said it Happy wife happy life, She's more then happy to let us go play in the woods for a few days while she does her own thing so i'm not complaining :bigok:

It is a lot of stuff but the skids and winch mount are easy. If this RCI group buy gets off the ground and fabricating and shipping begins.

Winch mount should be a one Saturday thing.

ARB's I already have a front from years ago that I never had installed.
And I almost came into a deal for a rear ARB almost half price, new in box, store closing sale, everything on the shelves must go kind of sale from a local supplier. I missed the boat, none left. If I had to buy 2 new full price it would be crazy. Now maybe I'll hold off until the next great deal comes around.

Hmmm, you're trying to get there Wednesday. Reeeeely. Maybe I can do the same, if I know a couple of you guys are there already it would be better.
