I just bought this 1993 4Runner. It has 193,000 miles. It has a 3.0 V6 and 5spd transmission. My plan is to replace everything it takes to make it a very capable daily driver.
It came with some old 31x10.5 r15's They are junk. I took it to the tire shop yesterday and they said my pitman and idler arms need to be replaced. The blinkers also stopped working a few days ago. I'm trying to search here and a few more forums for some answers. I plan on replacing these parts myself. Any help would be appreciated. I will post some pics as soon as I figure out the easiest way to post the pics up....

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have your hands full. Well for posting pics you can either use photobucket and paste the image link onto the page or you can go to attachments (the paperclip) and attach pictures through there.

well I too needed a new pitman arm and idler arm.. also my cv boot was broke and so I had to replace my axle. .. pain is the as it is.. so far I have changed my axle.. and just got done changing my idler arm.. as we speak I have the pitman arm removal tool trying to take it off.. and what a pain in the ass... its not budging.. past this I dont know what to do.. I hope it loosens soon...

to the guy who started this thread.. if you would like.. I have a video on how to change the idler arm.. its not that bad.. you do need to have a wrench on each side of the bolts you take out other wise they just spin.. good luck..

I had an 87 and just bought my 93 with the 3.0 and 5 speed didnt run at first but slowly bringing her back to life. anyway as far as your blinker issue first check your bulbs and fuses but most likely it is the same problem ive run into with numerous older vehicles you have a wire exposed and grounded check your wiring diagram and chase the wires good luck

Welcome I too have a 93 4Runner that I picked up a couple of weeks ago. So far I have to very little to keep her running as she came with a lot of the heavy lifting already done.
Good luck and keep us posted
