I own a '93 Toyota 4runner. I bought it last year and only used 4WD a few times last winter. I found that if I drive it in 4WD too long it starts to whine a bit. But yesterday I put it in 4WD for 2 min then tried to take it out. I pulled it to 2H but it would not disengage. I stopped, started, backed up, drove a few miles hoping it would come out. Nothing. Then, after trying all these again, it disengaged by backing up and stopping hard. Anyone know why this happened and what I can do to fix it?
