Hey guys I am new to this forum but I have been a yoga enthusiast since the day I could drive. This is my 5th yota!
Recently I picked up a 97 4runner, unfortunately auto and thats why I am having issues!!
It came up with a p0770 Shift Solenoid Malfunction E.
I took it to the mechanic, and they flushed the fluids, no metal on pans.
They checked the resistance on the solenoids and they were they same, they couldn't tell me if they were working or not though.
They drove it and tried to tell the torque converter to lock up but it would not. They charged me $250 said they don't know whats wrong and kicked me out.
Now I am stuck freaking out! When I drove it before, the light would come on, I would drive about an hour or so and the A/T temp light would come on. I am guessing because the torque converter won't lock up. Please help me out!
I am a college student that needs the car as a daily!
