Here are a few more pics from when I did the trans pan. The last person who did it used RTV on the whole thing instead of the actual gasket that you buy. This shit was so old and stuck on there I spent a while getting this crap off without screwing up surface. Ugh! Glad that's done.

So now the story brings us to our current state. I have been at it again searching for my upgrades for my truck. I went ahead and purchased this HELLA Supertone 118db horn. Thing is sweet! Waterproof and ready for the dirt now they will hear me! Stoked about that.

Also just put in K&N panel air filter and new fuel filter.

Next I went ahead and purchased a Brand new Uniden 40 channel CB radio with NOAA weather stations, and a PA! I also ordered a 4' firestick antenna for it and all the necessary accessories.

My next problem:

1. Where do I mount this thing??
2. Where do I mount the antenna??

I got the trunk/hood mount but the coax cable that screws into the antenna mount sticks out the bottom so far it hits before the mount does. Where are all u guys mounting your radios/antennas??

Up early ready to get CB mounted, and on the hunt for a external speaker for my CB. Frys electronics has it that's for sure.

hey man nice rig, and welcome... i too have a 2WD that is gonna be a Prerunner some day. cool to see another San Diegan on here. check out the SoCal section everyonce in awhile. we have meets and gonna start planning a trip to anza borrego in the coming months.

any plans for a locker?

Hey that's great to know! I was wanting to know if there was a 4runner meet around here. I live in point loma right on the cliffs. Not sure where your located but always available to wrench.

Today its HELLA supertone horn install, two headlight housings, mount CB radio, wire CB radio, and purchase PA speaker wire and mount that too!!

I would love to add a locker I didn't know that was a option for us 2wd guys. Probably has to be one of the expensive ARB I'm assuming.

Just finished mounting the CB and the PA speaker. Got a magnet mount antenna until I mount my firestick. Stoked how it came out. Ran the line from the antenna under all the paneling and for jam for a completely hidden line that goes directly under the dash. Very clean.

Just going to wire it all up now and tune the antenna.

All done as of 15 minutes ago. Everything is perfect. The only thing o don't like is I can't access weather station info.

Great build so far man! I have a 2wd 3rd gen myself and I've been looking around for lift spring/shock combos for awhile. Are those fox shocks the 2.0 ones on totytec for 3rd gens ? and how is the ride quality with the OME 890/Fox Shock combo?

Yes they are fox 2.0 in the back, with the old man emu 890/coils in back with toytech front 3" coils. The ride quality is amazing especially with the total chaos upper a arm. The arm along gives you another inch if travel and makes all the difference.

Ah sweet. Yea I was kind of iffy on going for that shock because the picture is so small I couldn't tell if it was an eye to to stem shock or not haha. But I've made up my mind now and Yea I bet those TC arms help. Those are pretty pricey though, I came across these on eBay:

For $250 I think they might be worth a shot.

Just received the HELLA horn and the passenger side headlight housing. Gonna slap those in early tomorrow. While I have the grill off I'm going to lightly sand the chrome and paint flat black I think. Just a thought.

Just added this little temp sending unit that I scored at a truck stop heading back from Tahoe yesterday. It tells me the inside and outside temps with a Ice alarm. Cool it fit right in the center console.

Took a trip to sierra at tahoe, my old stomping grounds. Worked here for 4 years had to visit.

Just finished the headlight housing swap. These 99 housings are much much more clear and focus the light right where I need it. Very happy I decided to go through with this mod. Now I just need to get the HELLA supertone horn mounted and I will be happy for the day lol.

Now I'm having the pleasure of aligning the headlights on a dark street here in my neighborhood. Did a small adjustment at my friends place but I was on the crest of a hill so I ended up with them both pointing about 20 feet in front of me lol! So I'm fixing that now.

Its official, this was the best idea. These things all properly aligned are so much more bright my neighbors thought I got a new car while pulling up. LOL!!!! Very happy. Went around and added graphite to all my locks and got every last one of them to move smoother and even got the passenger side so well that I can now unlock/ AND lock from passenger side. It never worked before before but now it does! So happy.

Slapping a Optima Red Top 1000 CA in tonight just for good measure.

Yea man, locker is an option for any axle. I just picked up a elocker rear end. I know a few guys that have Spartans and Aussie lockers in theres.

2WD rear end is exactly the same as 4WD in the 3rd gen 4runners, so you get any option that the 4wd guys get.
