I came across this site because I am about to do my timing belt and all I can say is WOW! This is my 1998 SR5 with 159,000 miles, stock... Well glad im here so much info!

I believe my '98 started out on Long Island the first 10years of its life before moving "upstate." Who knows, maybe our 4Runners came through port together -- might be a photo of them somewhere on Ellis Island filling out their paperwork. ;-)
