98 Damage Assessment - Post-Crumple Value Help.

I understand the doubt. I sold both a 1988 Land Cruiser and a 1993 Land Cruiser to buyers from the west coast. It took a lot of convincing to get people to believe they were rust free. It can be done with great care and effort. I found the black 2002 4Runner and I would not have had the buyer look at if it wasn't solid. Probably the nicest 3rd gen I have ever seen as old as it is.

Seriously, just a little bit of care can go a long way in areas south of the 45th parallel. Honestly, even Chicago doesn't get that much salt application compared to further north, but people just won't take their cars in for a bath two or three times in the winter.

There's not much behind that bumper. I'd offer 2000-2500. If you can get it at that price it's a steal even with the miles. Fix it up and you will have a super reliable nice 4Runner. Looks super clean.
