If i were you i would sell it and take a trip down to the Carolinas and find a rust free truck and transfer your mods too it and enjoy going under your truck and not having rust falling everywhere.

Great advice. I hate looking at all these 4runners down here in NC. I just always imagine not breaking bolts and cutting things off. Next piece I replace will probably be the frame in a few years.

After having parts put on i took a grinder and wire brush to the problem areas and re painted. Ive been keeping it away from the salt belt as much as possible. It used to be my dads and it was seeing chemicals 3 months of the year every year. Now I have it clean and away from the harmful chemicals. Worst part was the axle but other than just very minimal surface rust.

It comes from the inside and works it way out, and on these box frames you can't really access the inside to clean it up, so it will just continue to rust even though you cleaned it up.
