99 4runner LTD + $2,500= what shld i do with the cash?

been watching this website for years and never really made any post...just read the build threads and check out all the bad ass rigs on here....i have a backpay coming from VA within a few days and i am looking at what to do with a lil bit of the CASH!! all i have right now on my 4runner, is a set of 275/65/16 Duratracs...i know the first thing i am doing is going with a lift!!! going to go with some billys 5100's and Eibach/toytec springs and 890 OME in the rear with billys back there of course!!! I am also going to do the Tundra 231mm brake upgrade as well...i gotta stop!!

Don't lift it first. Armor first, then tires and gears, THEN lift.

Unless you're a road warrior, in which case do whatever.

If your rig need any maintenance done, get all that done first. Having a lift and armor isn't any good if the rig doesn't run well.

I would do sliders first, skids and a bellypan next, then the rear bumper. Don't worry about a front bumper unless you're planning on mounting a winch, just make sure you've got solid recovery points up there.

Let me ask you this, do you need lift? Unless you have to add lift in order to gain travel, I'd stay away from it. I don't know the 3rd gens really well, but you should be able to stuff 33s with only minor trimming and pounding, right? If you don't need bigger tires than that, I don't think you need to lift.

Keep your CoG low, and you'll do better on the trail. I'm lifted maybe 2 inches and it makes a huge difference in tippy situations. I'm pulling my lift off pretty soon.

YES... i know i need an O2 sensor, and definitely some new brakes so i am going to put some 231mm tundra brakes on the front. I am going to put back another $500 just incase i run into any unseen problems...but as of right now my 4Runner runs fine....had to do alot when i first bought it...

i would definitely take care of any maintenance needs first, timing belt/water pump, CV's, maybe leaky exhaust, synthetic everything, etc etc, then get toys. nothing like having a decked out, lifted, armored t4r broke down in your driveway lol.

as far as i know everything is all good except an O2 sensor, and my brakes suck butthole!!

Don't forget a possible LBJ replacement. Check your rear diff breather as well.

Also, when the lift comes, be ready to replace the CVs, or at least the boots.

I have had my 4Runner since Oct. 25th 2011, i have 2 kids so the maintenance is definitely number UNO on the list! LOL GOtta KeeP it safe for the KIdDOS! So, basically all and all is straight maintenance wise!! but just incase i am putting extra bread aside for something messing up or me breaking something....i am not a skilled wrench hand, but i can read and have some common sense!!! LOL!! The best part about it, if i start to screw up i can come check this site out!!if i have noticed one thing, looking over these post this is a hell of a community to be in u take care of each other...i dig it!

LC...yeah i hope their not fubar!! and i was going to do the rear diff ext breather mod once i get my lift on...i've checked out the post about that mod and pretty sure i can manange it...well i hope!

should i go ahead and replace them while i am in there....my runner has 260k on it?

OEM CVs are the strongest available. I'd just re-boot when they tear.

IS the TRD on your wheels a sticker? I really like how you did that. Do you have a write-up on how you painted them? How has the paint held up?
