hey guys im from houston. ive found a 99 black 4runner 4x4 with 181,000mi for $5250. are the miles too high to consider buying the car. the guy said his lives in east texas and would drive to houston to go to UH. inside was filthy(has a dog) 4x4 works. attenna makes a noise when u first turn on car. front bumper has slight damage. it seems like a good price. wat should i look out for?

If it is filthy I look at like this; the dude apparently wouldn't even vacuum or keep the interior clean. I kinda doubt he kept up with oil changes and other maint.

I agree. If he is to lazy to clean the car that he is selling than he probably didn't maintain it well.

If possible. I'd try to pull the valve cover, it may have tons of sludge build up in it. I'd try to find a clean better maintained ride. That price with that mileage and in that condition isn't a steal so I'd keep looking.

That price is just fair, I got mine in IMMACULATE condition with 140k miles on it for $5500 with new shocks...so unless its in REALLY good shape, then try and get him to go down a little...

In his ad he says its clean and got good check marks on the carpet etc. But you said its filthy?

i just got an email from him saying he got offered 5100 from someone so i let it go. o well. ill continue my search for a 4x4 4runner
