99 4wd, jerk when letting off gas quickly?

So while driving the 4runner, just cruising at speed limit, if I let off the gas pedal too quickly I get this jerk/thunk/jolt from the drive train. But if I let off the pedal gradually it is completely fine. I haven't had a 4wd one in the shop recently to compare it to and wanted to see if anyone else has this occurring with theirs.

I have greased the drive shaft. And I have check to make sure the dashpot is doing it's job and it is.

Mine does this as well when I'm doing like 45mph or so and the traffic light changes and I have to let off the gas quickly.

Sure it's from the drivetrain? Sounds like motor/tranny/body mounts? Or do you definitely almost "feel it" in the pedal/transmssion?

It could also be something like your cables at your throttle body, check all 3 and ensure they are not loose.

Not sure if this trans is like the Chrysler trans, but it could also be your kickdown cable adjustment/band asjustments (this is just my experience on Jeeps, not sure if it transfers)

Mine does the same ill be cleaning the TB hopefully this weekend to see if it stops but I kind of like the jerk lol

Just wanted to let you guys know I adjusted the 3 cables that were discussed in another thread about throttle response, the kick down cable, throttle cable and cruise control cable. After doing so I had horrible jerks when shifting from reverse to drive. So I loosened the kickdown cable even looser than when I started and it shifts insanely smooth now. Amazing.
