If this has been asked before, sorry, I searched but could not find any answer I'm looking for.
I know there is extensive threads and info here on lifts and the lift faq thread, exhausting threads over the same thing, tons of times over...
I still just cannot find the answer to this...
So, I have a 99 with the tall springs, I am about to install a lift. I am going with toytec coilovers in the front (bilstein 5100 with the silver eibach springs) and OME 890 in the rear, new shocks etc.
Before I do the install I want to be sure that I have everything ready to go. I would like to go ahead and do the supporting mods at the same time (if they are needed).
I know that at the 3" mark you should seriously consider the front dif drop, the extended rear brake lines, the panhard drop etc.
I plan on going ~1.5-1.75" in the front and 2" in the rear.
I would say 80% of use will be pavement...for now. Occasional trail rides, camping trips, etc, nothing too technical.
So, technically, I am only lifting 1.5 ~ 1.75" in the front and 2" in the rear...since my 4Runner has the 99 "tall" springs...
Do I need to consider the supporting mods with this new setup? Should I not be looking at it as just a 1.5"/2" lift and consider my 4Runner "lifted" already? I mean, I'm going 1.5/2" over stock height...I don't know this has kind of confused me. Maybe I should have purchased a different year model.
