'99 sport in 2wd??

Does anyone know if the '99 with sport hood came in 2wd?

I may be able to pick one up cheap...waiting on a reply from seller if it is 2x4 or 4x4.

I can't find any listings of the sport with only 2wd...

yes, in fact that's what is annoying the hell out of me in my search for another 99.

According to this:
Toyota 4Runner History 1999

All Toyota 4Runners are available in both two- and four-wheel drive configurations and can be powered by either a four-cylinder or V6 engine coupled with a five-speed manual or optional four-speed automatic transmission

In addition, the SR5 model's optional Sports Package has been upgraded to include front and rear color-keyed bumpers with projector fog lamps, fender flares, a new wheel design and a sporty hood scoop.

AFAIK, all the Limiteds came with a V6 and an auto, SR5s all had a V6 and either manual or auto, base models are the only ones that came with 4 bangers (no V6 option) and I think they were all manuals. This is regardless of 4x4 or 4x2. I haven't ever seen any excpetions to this, but chime in if you have, I'd like to know.

The hard thing for me, when I was looking, was that so many people put on a scoop hood after the fact... so it was hard for me to tell which were REALLY a sport model or not.

1999 was the first year the Highlander was introduced by Toyota. A 1999 Highlander is a Toyota 4Runner SR5 with the SP or SX Option Package. In 1999 it's exterior was available only in Black or Imperial Jade Mica. The Mica Jade came with an Oak interior, and the Black version came with either an Oak or Grey interior.

Yes there are some base 4 cyl Runners that came with an auto.
