99 turbo runner

thank you clown meat, i have read your entire build thread before i built mine, you inspired me to build mine, i almost went and bought a new car ( and i could have bought brand new!) until i saw your build. i even messaged you and asked questions on youtube, that is some crazy stuff you did with the paddle shifters! many props to you!

That's really cool to hear, thanks, and props to you too. I want to see some videos of that beast.

Why? I've done both many times. Rear mounts work just fine, no underhood heat soak with rear mount and a bit quicker spool with manifold mount.

I think "why", because of the far routing of the charge piping from the turbo to the engine bay.

that was at 12 psi now I'm at 18, 465 TQ at 12psi, haven't dynoed at 18 yet

i would have to do the math, around 20k

Why would you wait until your selling it to post this on this forum? Unless of course your full of bs and just taking pictures off the Craigslist add that was posted earlier on here. Jk really nice stuff man. I'm jelly.

Wow!!!! I cant believe im finding this build now and even more that it was built in my hometown!!!! Awesome work id love to see where this project has gone its been close to a year since this thread has been updated

Back from the dead since I've been looking at ways to get about 400RWHP.

What ever happened with this project?

How was it tuned?

Search Customtacos.com. There's a few guys still active in the Performance section that have turbo 5VZ-FE's. A fair amount of them used piggybacks while others went full standalone. Most went after the 2RZ 2WD Tacomas though, since they weight only a hair over 3000 lbs! 4WD + V6 4Runners are 3950 for comparison.
