A case of the rattles...

So I've just noticed that my moon roof makes a really annoying noises when driving. Also I hear a slight "jingle" from the rear now and then. Anyone have any experience with this?

Moon roof is a known nuisance item, mine rattles like a SOB when open (i.e. usable). As far as the rear, take a look at anything you may have stored in any of the numerous rear cubby holes. Im talking left/right cargo storage areas (where your jack tools are), small storage areas on top of the wheel wells and even the rear door pockets. I always heard a rattle back there when the music was quiet and finally started looking into these little cubby areas. Found all kinds of crap that was making noise but that I forgot I had back there (ammo, shackles, tow hitch pin, etc). So now at least I know thats its my inner hoarder and not some suspension or driveline noise.

What does the rattle sound like?

I had a sound from the rear area that sounded like two pieces of sheet metal vibrating against one another and it was driving me crazy. Turns out it was the rear license plate, easy fix.

A jingle might be loose jack tools. Try re-securing them.

My moonroof only makes noise when it is closed going around 40-50 mph. It's not a rhythmic noise and sounds like the wind is vibrating something with turbulence. I can't seem to pinpoint what it could be moving.

As far as the jingle I will removal all items in the cargo hold and see if it still does it.

Try moving the roof rack crossmembers, that may effect the turbulent air. I had a roof rattle and it ended up being one of the fasteners for the rack crossmembers had fallen out allowing the crossmember to rattle. That seemed to fix it for a bit but now its back intermittently and all the hardware is still tight.

I did this and the noise is gone. Thanks a lot TRDCal!
