They were the Lighter c or d rated. Didn't drive them any harder than the BFG at's I'm used to. In fact I had to drive slower they sucked so bad. Perhaps the E rated are stiffer but who needs a heavier tire when you can get better performance out of something lighter.
P.S. the Bfg's are better offroad too. IMO.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but the Duratracs are several pounds lighter than the BFG T/A KO at every load rating according to TireRack's specs... and less expensive.

RonMAIDEN is right on: Duratracs. wanted something better, more aggressive, and off-road-capable. adept handling of Maine winters is a requirement, so figured they were the better choice A/T. so far, so good.

thanks for all the compliments. i'm really loving the salsa red; something different. in person, it's a complex, moody color that shifts according to the light. i'll take some better (read: non-phonecam) pics when the weather permits.

all in all, the rig seems like an updated version of my '93, pictured here prior to a pant-load of upgrades and a subsequent blown headgasket (its second; damned 3VZE) which finally tolled the proverbial bell for the old girl. :sadwave:

harper7! sadly, i was genuinely confused by the sudden appearance of 7harper, thinking "who is this guy masquerading as harper7?"

BFGs have a lousy rep for snow and ice so they seemed an impractical choice for my purposes.

The Bfg's Have never let me down. I actually live in the mountains where we measure snow in feet not inches. (elevation 8600') They are my favorite snow tire.

Not sure if anything really works well on ice unless it's studded. Doubt the DT would fair well on the ice without use of the stud holes.

Enjoy the DT tires. I LOVE ME SOME BFG!!!

certainly we all agree that whether BFG AT/KO, SilentArmor, or Duratrac they're all better than the stockers. and we've all got our reasons for running one or another.

bright side: if the Duratracs don't work out, well, the lift and 285s will just go on a little sooner than expected. :thumb3:

You know im now beginning to think after looking at almost all the 5th gen pics that the red TE is one of the best looking ones. Shoes look awesome as well. nice job!
