A good dealer experience..

Since many dealership posts tend to sway towards the negative I thought I'd tell of one experience that went better than expected. Yesterday I stopped by my local Toyota dealership for my scheduled 10k service. As I did last time I hand the service advisor my vial for the oil sample I request so that I can send it off for analysis. No questions asked and they promptly take the vehicle to the back.

About 30 minutes later I get a text from the dealership with a link to a video. The video is a 2'ish minute video of the technician going over the inspection of my vehicle and covering all the check points in detail as he's beneath the 4Runner. Towards the end he holds up my vial and says my oil sample is taken and is in the plastic bag that I provided and then thanks me for bringing it in.

I know this seems like nothing to some but it was a nice touch and something that the dealer didn't have to take the time doing. The timing was perfect as the vehicle was pulled up just as soon as I had finished the video.

Anyone else have a Toyota dealer do this? I've never received a video of my vehicle inspection before so I don't know if this is a Toyota thing or a dealership specific thing. :wink2:

I've had a VW dealership do it for me. Service is a huge part of their business, so anything they can do to keep you going to another dealer they'll try.

Seems like a nice touch, pretty cool.
I am hoping they are just as fastidious about the work performed.

Always good to hear. I thought my dealer was on top of their game until they installed the incorrect oil filter on my 4R. Not bothering with them any more.

That sounds neat. I am taking mine in for its 5,000 mile checkup on Thursday.

I have been very satisfied with my local dealer and always had my FJ Cruiser serviced there and ended up trading it for the Pro. So I have no worries about taking the 4Runner there.

It was at Limbaugh. It's where I purchased the vehicle and the only dealership that 1). was willing to negotiate and 2). was willing to get me a Trail Premium exactly how I wanted it without any dealer add on crap. They were actually great through the whole process during the purchase.

What dealership and where was it?

I'll be making a trip up there from Tuscaloosa in the next few days, hopefully. They show good prices on their website. Did they come off of list price or are they firm?

Thanks

Oh yes they did. I believe I was right above invoice. I went all over the state and dipped into Atlanta and Nashville. None of them would haggle OR even agree to get me the vehicle I wanted except Limbaugh.
