Since many dealership posts tend to sway towards the negative I thought I'd tell of one experience that went better than expected. Yesterday I stopped by my local Toyota dealership for my scheduled 10k service. As I did last time I hand the service advisor my vial for the oil sample I request so that I can send it off for analysis. No questions asked and they promptly take the vehicle to the back.
About 30 minutes later I get a text from the dealership with a link to a video. The video is a 2'ish minute video of the technician going over the inspection of my vehicle and covering all the check points in detail as he's beneath the 4Runner. Towards the end he holds up my vial and says my oil sample is taken and is in the plastic bag that I provided and then thanks me for bringing it in.
I know this seems like nothing to some but it was a nice touch and something that the dealer didn't have to take the time doing. The timing was perfect as the vehicle was pulled up just as soon as I had finished the video.
Anyone else have a Toyota dealer do this? I've never received a video of my vehicle inspection before so I don't know if this is a Toyota thing or a dealership specific thing. :wink2:
