abs/traction unit acting up ?

Hello Fellowes,

I have noticed something odd that I was ignoring for a while because it happens only under hard braking and when tire slip occurs.

So under sudden/hard braking when tires starting to squeal and slip truck dips down and then lurches forward and then dips again until I fully release brake pedal and that seems to reset lurching. It feels almost like abs won't pulsate properly to stop the truck.

Did anyone experience the same condition ?

Thanks

This is part of the emergency braking feature, which is a bit weird and I have felt it but it basically Over pumps the brake pressure anticipating your gonna put your foot down and hold it for an emergency stop. Sometimes this gets triggered to early and takes a second to release, might need to check conditions of your brakes.

Hey Billynath1988,

I have 5th gen caliper conversion on my front axle. Pads are about 50% left. No binding or over heating.

I don't like how sensitive it is sometimes either. Coming to a stop and hitting a rut or pothole might cause me to go an extra 5-10 feet because the brakes aren't functioning fully. They are in abs mode for too long.
