acceleration noise

sorry. it's an 04 V6 4runner with 21K on it. is it normal to have engine noise when accelerating? it sounds like the timing belt noise but i doubt it. i feel lack of power when i accelerate or do i just need to press down harder on the accelerator? thanks!

Nope, no timing belt on the 04 V6. Ticking noises will be normal on these motors. As for the lack of power, did you just buy the truck? Or have you had it for a while, and now it doesn't feel the same?

there is no timing belt on the 04 V6. i had this truck for the whole life and realized lack of power or i am just not pounding the accelerator hard enough. also how many mile do you get in a full tank when it hit empty? i get around 350-375 miles. that sounds low no?

So you've had the truck since the beginning and are asking if you hit the gas pedal hard enough? I would think that if you feel it lacks power driving it the way you always have, then yes, its lacking power for some reason.
I don't think that range sounds low, I don't know where you live, but if its cold outside, that range is fine. Mine may show more, but I have to fill up (yellow light on) well before 400 miles these days. In the summer, I could go 450 sometimes.
