Addicted offroad's rear bumper with tire carrier.

I came across this on FB earlier and thought I'd share with the rest of the 4th gen community.

Good to have another option out there for our rigs! Or at least for the guys on the west coast and the ones that are closer to AOR. It says in the post that these will be made to order and built on to customers rigs in house only. I don't know if that will change in the future but that's what it looks like for the time being. Priced at $2k

Man, I was excited up until I opened the post. Wish it didnt use a portion of the original bumper. It looks great, but dont want any of the original bumper. Might bite on a CBI this year :/

I really liked the idea of using part of the oem rear bumper, as it would make it look a little less bulky than some of the other aftermarket rear bumper options, but I'm not too sure I like the design of this one- the back side looks flat and plain. Why is the tire mounted so high? It covers the 3rd brake light.

Looks awesome, but I'm disappointed.

Can't have one shipped to my door, and the price is steeper than I hoped.

could of been a really good option, but from what i see the tire i mounted in such a way as to block both the rear window and the backup camera. Plus the price is pretty steep for such a bland option with that huge visibility flaw. it just seems so boring and plain compared to the front bumper they offer.

I agree, I had high hopes for their rear bumper after seeing and purchasing their front.

I actually love the clean, simple look and the use of the stock bumper. But yeah, that tire is way too high, as is the price.

Oh, don't get me wrong. it looks good. I was just expecting more after they delivered one of the meanest looking front bumpers.

Swing out looks terrible. How can you mount jerry cans or other accessories to that if the swing out is completely in the middle.

I am still waiting for someone to make a 4th gen rear bumper exactly like the 5th gen 4runner CBI rear bumper.

im gonna be having a new Toyota fabshop local to me called Trailworx fab prototype a front and possibly a rear for our 4th gens here in about 3 weeks time. the front im planning to have him do a nice plate/tube hybrid and the rear im not certain on. i do like the CBI plate rear but i also feel the hybrid rear needs to be addressed better than that sorry excuse CBI put out a while ago. thinking maybe along the lines of the 3rd gen hybrid CBI has out. any ideas would be appreciated since they will most likely be put up for purchase after its all finished.

I hate the way it uses the original bumper, that means cutting and to be honest it looks tacky. Can't easily add accessories and CBI's fully loaded, powder coated, swing away tire carrier, jerry can holder, and fold down table is 2600. So for 600 more I get a better looking bumper and addons.

CBI uses the existing bumper for their 5th gen 4runners. The 5th gen bumper looks really good.

That sounds promising. Might i suggest you suggest you start with the rear? We need more rear aftermarket bumpers

I would love to, but I'm going up to 35s so I need to open the front up and hack and hammer away. But if anything the rear would be this summer at the latest so I can actually carry my spare. How ever if I can get a really good price on prototyping both at the same time I'll do that.

I asked Scotty on facebook if they plan to release another version with a jerry can holder. He said that he has no plans to as he doesn't like the idea of a bomb strapped to the back of a vehicle. I can see his logic, but what if you wanted to fill the jerry cans with water?

Good to know. Hopefully it works out. I'm eager to grab a rear with a tire carrier. I don't fit in parking decks with my spare mounted on top.

Yea I saw that. That's lame because almost every 4x4 vehicle and their mothers have a rear bumper w/gas can carriers.

I'd argue that most jerry can holders are up high enough on the bumper along with the initial lift that the likely hood of the cans getting a direct hit in the case of a rear end collision is pretty slim.
