Adding interior courtesy lights to my '96

I hate the fact that there are no under dash lights on my '96 Runner. What is a good way to tie them in so that they come on when the doors open?

Using the doors spring activated pressure switch would be my best guess. When a door is opened, the spring in the switch pushes out thus completing the circuit and sending power to the dome light...

I've seen this done in the past, with the courtesy lights placed just under the doors inside panels...Good mod I must admit.
