Zero point calibration questuon

VSC/Trac lights have been on for a while. No noticable effects, just annoying. All the write ups I’ve come across have been for 96-00 model years, I have an 02. Earlier model years had the diagnostic port under the hood on the drivers side, In 02’s it’s under the dash

My question is:

Is the procedure the same regardless of port location? Are the terminal layouts the same?

I need to debug a drivetrain noise and the VSC is getting in the way. I've been fishing for how to easily disable it. Along the way, I stumbled on zero point calibration. I had no idea that was even a thing to do.

Yup! That’s one of the threads I’ve come across. The guy who (re)posted the procedure says some conflicting things. He has an 01-02 but the procedure he reposted shows an earlier model OBD port (under hood. You can see the VC and oil cap).


My question is whether the procedure is the same regardless of port location and if the ports are laid out the same

not that this may fix your issue, but timmy on you tube shows how to do the "Andy mod" that disables that system. Did it to the one I owned for a very brief time. Sold the rig and explained to buyer what it does and how to use.

Unfortunately wont address my issue. Literally all I need is for someome to confirm the procedure is the same regardless of port location and that the pins are laid out the same, again, regardless of port location. Once I get all this sorted though I'll probably end up doing the Andy mod anyway lol

Haven't tried it yet. Had to get a new battery and the lights reset in the interim. It's been about 500mi and they haven't come back on, though I expect they will any day.
