Additional lift height questions.

Hey guys , have any of you put rear spacers on top of your lift springs? I'm trying to gain some height so I'm going to put the toytec 3/4 spacer on top of my OME 885s up front and o ordered 1-1/2 inch daustars for the rear to sit on top of the OME 895s. Am I going to have any issues lifting the rear that high ? Also planning a 4crawler 1-1/4 body lift this winter. I'm preparing for the Vermont Overland Trophy and I want to get the truck higher do that it doesn't hurt my clearance when I'm fully loaded with expedition gear( 3 people for 5 days) Am o going to need longer shocks or brake lines ? I have OME nitro sport shocks all around.

I think you'll run into alignment issues with the UCAs as well. As I understand from reading other threads here, anything past 3" or so and you can't get the caster into spec.

I have a 1" thick daystar budget Boost on top of my FJ springs and 5100's at 1.75 in front. No issues. Also have diff drop in which I think helps.

I have a 1.5" daystar spacer cut down to 1" in the rear on top of my 2" superflex springs, no problems there either.

I have a daystar spacer on top of MT LT coils in the back, and it's totally fine, but I have the LT shocks too. In the fronts, I have cranked my coil overs up higher with no problems. pm me if you have any questions.

I had a 1/2'' spacer on top of my coilovers and ran into issues with too much droop for the stock arms. At full droop the UCA balljoint would bind and the UCA would touch the spring. I think a 1/2'' spacer would be fine if you dont have the extra spacer that is optional with OME lifts, but a 3/4'' would be too much.

My plan is to use the OME style spacer up front. its only 1/4 inch but is supposed to net 3/4 of lift. I don't want to replace the UCAs just yet so I'm going just a little bit taller in front. I think in the rear Ieill add the 1-1/2 Daystar and see what happens. I'm thinking probably new shocks depending on if they limit the flex too much . I'll probably need extended sway bar links in the rear too. Has anyone needed and adjustable track bar in the rear?

Did you cur down the spacer to keep the rake from getting crazy ? My truck is loaded all the time plus has a lot of armor, I don't think the rake will bother me. Maybe I should get the adjustable 5100 shocks instead of the top spacers up front ?

I would get the extended rear brake lines and just take the rear sway bar off... I leave my rear off and have the front on for daytime driving, and it is not noticeable at all. Then for trail rides, I take the front off too. No adjustable pan hard here yet...

My front sway bar is long gone already. I haven't tried driving it with the rear off too.

Yes I cut it down to make the vehicle a little more even. However it is still 1.5" or so difference, I want a 3/4-1" difference front to rear.

you can do the adjustable 5100 and set at .85 setting, which would essentially do the same thing. Except have new shocks at the same time. I would say the only difference between the two options is going to be the $100 diff between spacers and shocks. Shocks would be the better choice.

Wouldn't the OME nitrochargers already be long enough sinch they are for their lift springs ? The spacers are around $60 and the shocks I have are fairly new, plus I have a spare.

Yes i would think they are long enough. Since you have those the spacers may be the better way to go. If you had old shocks go with 5100's.
momo.75 he has the 5100's at 2nd setting (.85) and has OME 884's. Good setup. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/113207-momo-75s-03-sport-4-7l-v8-build-2.html
