Aftermarket driveshaft recommendations?

The 2WD driveshaft is very simple. Front slip yoke, two single u-joints. Any decent driveline shop should be able to make one for you. No double-cardan joints or slip joints to worry about.
If new u-joints and balancing didn't fix it, the shaft itself has problems. The rubber vibration dampener wears out and allows the shaft to bend, basically.
I paid $400 for a 100% brand new one from a local driveline shop here in Los Angeles before I went 4WD.
Its a quick 4 bolts/nuts to swap it out.

You can't do anything with the stock 2WD driveshaft. It is a two-piece design with inner and outer sleeves held together via rubber. The metal doesn't bend, the rubber wears out and gets loose.

It was a local shop, I don't even remember the name now. This is a well known issue (at least, to driveline shops!) and most places should be able to put one together - even if they hack up your stock one to re-tube it.

Call here and ask for Kyle. He has always helped me, and has answered my questions even when it was clear that the DS was not my problem. He may be able to diagnose for you over the phone, and give you an idea of what the problem is.
