Aftermarket Headlight Options

Assuming the lenses don't spiderweb at high temps like the Depo '03-05 ones.



I highly doubt a cheap knockoff will have a higher quality projector with better cutoff than the OEM ones, but it may be comparable.

I have aftermarket blacked out ones from eBay and one of them is starting to do that spiderweb thing. It started in the corner and is slowly making it's away around the bottom edge. I'm assuming there's no way to stop this? I'm really disappointed about it because they look absolutely sexy on my truck!!

I avoided the Ebay Halo headlights for a few reason..

1. They are a weak product. All the ones I have seen have issues way too soon if you ask me. Fading, cracking, rings going out or changing colors, etc..

2. I don't thing HID's fit them.

3. The rings are powered by a single LED per ring from the looks of it. That doesn't have enough light output for me. Plus if it is based off a single LED you would be screwed as soon as it goes out.

So I think its best to mod your own headlights. I actually had a master tech at work help me figure out how to run the wires inside the headlights. I had everything setup and ready to go but I was stomped when it came to running wires inside the headlight. Sometimes it pays to have a friend(s) help you with projects like these.

Yes, yes, and yes. I've had no problems with the rings but they cannot be seen during the day unless it's overcast. My only concern with them is the cracking. Really wish I had done more research on them before I bought them but I ordered them long before I was a member on here.

I don't think there is a way to stop them.. if you have your old ones you can pull the lens off those (by baking) and put it on the new housing.

I actually sold the pair that I had with the spiderweb thing to a member here for like $25 and he just took the lenses off his OEM ones and he was very happy with em.
