I introduced myself, but figured I would say hello here, since the 3rd Gen is by far the best looking 4Runner!!!
I have two issues, neither of which were found by a search:
Neither the AC or the 4WD is working. They worked before the motor swap and now they do not. The motor swap was done by a guy that happened to be the best price at the time, it worked for me, but I need to clean-up behind him and it will be easier for me to handle it than to be without my truck while he hims and haws about what needs to be done and why it is not his fault.
AC facts:
Fuses are good, AC light on dash lights up when pushed or when set to defrost, RPMs increase when on, but I can see, by looking in at the compressor, that the clutch does not activate.
Question: Where is the electrical connection to the compressor and how much on the plates and such to I need to remove to see if from the underside of the truck.
Please let me know anything else that might cause this issue.
4WD facts:
Fuse are good, 4WD light on dash does not lights up when pushed, but flashes when pushed at speeds over 60MPH. I can tell that 4WD is not engauging. I can not here it and I can drive tight circles without any drag on the tires.
Question: Where is the electrical connection to the 4WD and how much on the plates and such to I need to remove to see if from the underside of the truck.
Electrical work is my weakest link, but I know enough to check the fuses and then put a meter where the power is supposed to be supplied.
Please let me know anything else that might cause this issue.
Thanks for you help,
