The first batch of allocations for the 6th gen 2025 4runner has just been released to Toyota dealers.

Well deliveries have to start somewhere and like most things you don't wake up one day and the dealer lots are full. I expect for Toyota to build more 4-Rummers then Land Cruisers and price is most likely the main reason. Since the 4-Runner is built at the same assembly plant in Japan as the new Land Cruiser and I think the Lexus GX 550 is also built at the same plant, I expect 4-Runners to suffer some on the assembly line. Well, it will be interesting to see how things go in the future, I would not want to see these vehicles built at another plant that is not in Japan. I don't expect to see the new 4-Runner to sell anywhere close to the Gen 5 models for a long time and with the Land Cruiser added in the lime it may never meet those sales figure again. I think it will be interesting to see if the new Toyota products even come close to the older 4-Runners, Land Cruisers, FJ Cruiser, Lexus GX 470, GX 460 models of the past.

I don't expect to see the new 4-Runner to sell anywhere close to the Gen 5 models for a long time and with the Land Cruiser added in the lime it may never meet those sales figure again. I think it will be interesting to see if the new Toyota products even come close to the older 4-Runners, Land Cruisers, FJ Cruiser, Lexus GX 470, GX 460 models of the past.

Add to the mix the new mini Land Cruiser that Toyota showed off at the Paris Auto show a couple months back. That is sure to be a hit if the estimated MSRP of $30,000 is met. Just look how popular the Ford Bronco Sport has been.

Of course, the mini Land Cruiser is likely to be built on a different assembly line, so it will not be competing with the 4Runner, full size LC, or the big Lexus for space.

I went to my local Toyota dealer Friday and had a long chat with my salesman there. He said they also had a few 4Runner allocations due in February.

Things to keep in mind, if a manufacture shows a new vehicle and gives a list price on it, it's for the base model and you will not ever see one for sale on dealers' lots, look for it to be $40,000 plus. The Ford Bronco Sport is not selling that well at this time, the dealer lots are full, how many do you want. As far an assembly plants go, if Toyota builds it, it will be built under their quality production system and all should be top quality, that is if the vehicle was designed correctly. When it comes to dealers knowing what is going on, they don't and sales personal are the worst for getting it right, they tell what you want to hear. Not saying you are wrong on what you posted, but in the past when things finally happen, they are much different than what we are told.

Right on. It'll come soon enough. The launch will be a slow rollout, probably like the Tacoma where they get the nonhybrids out, then a few months later the hybrids. Sure to be another big seller. 25mpg highway in a body on frame offroader on 33" tires for the nonhybrid is impressive.

Will it outsell the 5th gen when the LC250 is there to cannibalize some sales? Maybe, maybe not. I'd expect it to at least return 80% of recent 5th gen sales though. And I wouldn't be surprised if it truly does outsell the 5th gen. Although soft-roader models like the upcoming Passport will be fighting for some of the same sales. And rightfully so, buying a 4Runner when you just hit the mall is not necessary, and things like the Passport gives people the look they are after, without the cost and negatives of a true body on frame vehicle.

Owning a 2024 TRD Off Road 4-Runner at this time I have no idea on how long I will keep it, being 79 and only driving it some 5,000 miles per year, who knows what I will do. At this time in my life the GX 550 Lexus is what I would buy next, but not ready to trade at this time, so who knows what the future will bring, I hope no more 4-cylinder engines. I think the sales of the new GEN 6 will be determined by the economy and how well it is doing, I don't see the owners of Gen 4 and Gen 5 owners trading their vehicles for the Gen 6's anytime soon.
