Just saw my truck up on a lift and noticed it looks like I'm missing a skid plat?

It's a 2013 TE.

I think you may just be missing the plastic shield. I have a LE, but the front skids are all the same I believe.

Bought my 4runner new on 2011 and I have always thought it was missing something down there. Mines is a SR5.

My '12 SR5 is like that too. It's normal.

Don't worry about pissing off people. At least you made some effort. Sometimes we just don't use the right search terms, or we simply overlook a post. It's not a big deal. It's almost like you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. Don't search, and someone yells for not searching. Search, and then someone yells for reviving an old thread. If you can't find something after a little bit of searching, I say, just ask. No point in spending your whole night looking if someone can provide you with an answer off the top of their head in a few minutes.

Still baffles me why Toyota spent the money to add that extra plastic piece to the Limited's. It's like the half a gas tank skid they put on them, hopefully they changed that...

No harm, no foul. I was just making an observation. The other thread opened with a title similar to yours. No reference to missing skid, so it wouldn't show up in a search. Sometimes we just can't find what we are looking for because the proper words simply aren't there. :wink2:

Ok so I noticed before that there was a rectangular opening in the front of the front skid plate that had what looked like a wire screen of some type. I got stuck in mud last weekend and while hosing off the mud I noticed it was no longer there. Is it important?

The screen is there to allow air to flow around the diff while keeping rocks and debris out of there. It's not a deal breaker as long as you keep it cleaned out. But you may end up having to remove the skid to get it properly cleaned out from now on.
