Hopefully with the new radiator they didn't have the pink milk shake! I've seen so many times people have a cooler failure and just try flushing every thing out and having the transmission go out on them like a year later I'm in zeeland not far from you if you have a trans problem develop get ahold of me I could give ya a hand I'm a transmission mechanic and 3rd gen enthusiast I'm going to check out the 98 with the blown head gasket in Grand Rapids tonight

Hey, neighbor! Thanks for the offer! I saw the 98 with the head gasket issue on CL. Good luck with that one. As a transmission mechanic, do you think I should do anything with mine?

If it's all local driving I would just wait till the tranny goes if you want piece of mind do a glycol test on the trans fluid that will tell you if coolant is in there the problem with the coolant it attacks the seals swelling them to a point where they don't work and destroys the friction plates where they won't grab I've seen trans last up to 3 years after a coolant failure I'm sure you got a good deal I've done a fair share of wheel bearing and tie rods on these too so if you need a hand
