Andersen Drop Hitch

Just bought an Andersen Drop hitch and the hitch was incredibly tight sliding into the hitch receiver. It was so tight that my friend and I had to use a 4" X 4" board with a sledge hammer to bang the hitch into the receiver! I've never had this problem ever in my entire life or heard of something like this! Anyone else hear of anything like this or know why it was so difficult to get it in?

I have read of this issue on here before. I don't remember any specifics, but if your Google-foo is good, you might find it.
