Nice kayak! Craigslist find?
I've been trying to source a kayak rack for the 4th gen similar to the Thule rack I had on the 3rd gen below. I haven't been able to find one that fits the sport rack yet unfortunately. With the 3rd gen the roof rack feet mounted right into the factory rail guides, but the sport rack on the 4th just screws straight into the roof and needs adapters that seem tough to find without spending full retail $$$
It's nice to be able to throw both wet kayaks up there, dont have to worry about soaking the interior :nod:

I don't get the problem. You have a rack, just throw the kayaks up there.
Shoot me a PM, I used to be on the Jackson Kayak team and worked a lot locally with Thule and Malone (and Yakima is in town). I can figure out something.

You mean raised-rails? Then, get Thule Crossroad feet and 60-inch load bars. They have straps that wrap around the raised rail. That will accommodate 2 kayaks side by side laying flat, face down.
Kayaks too heavy? Get a Thule Hullavator. There are 2 versions now AFAIK. You would need to use shorter load-bars for Hullavator - I think I have 48-inch ones. Still accommodates 2 kayaks side by side, lying flat, face down.

Legit peeved about lack of ability to roll the windows back up using the fob. Shame on Toyota engineers working on 4th gen 4R! They did a great job...just forgot to address key details that'd have been noticed by future owners

Thanks for the tip! I'll setup a craiglist notification for "thule crossroad" and see what I can find. I believe the load bar on the 3rd gen was a 58", so 60" would work perfectly.
Another reason to love the sliding rear window, you don't even have to open the hatch to throw in your paddles, life jackets, cooler, ect. Just toss the kayaks on the roof, throw everything into the rear and off you go!
Funny when I bought my 4Runner I told my kids it would fit a kayak inside it. Now I have proof.

I absolutely love driving with ALL the glass retracted. All 5 windows and the sunroof...
Makes sense. It’s like creating a draft. Fresh air in the front and then :scared
ut the back.I went blasting down a dirt road one time not realizing just my back window was open. That was the last time I made that mistake. 
I think that back spoiler, combined with the large surface area of the back hatch combines to create a serious back wind effect. I'm sure there some official aerodynamics terminology I should be using.

The only time I really have a problem is when I'm going up a big hill and I get that awesome 4runner catalytic converter smell.
