I'm planning to sell my 4Runner, BUT THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE POST. I am just looking for help with pricing it. I sold a stock 1995 4Runner a few years ago and listed it for KBB price on CL. After the sixth person (in two days) asked to be on the waiting list in case the other five didn't take it, I realized I priced it way too low. I don't want to make that mistake again. KBB says $6250 stock in my area. (If I can't get a good price I can put it back stock and sell the add-ons.)
It is NOT FOR SALE at this time. I'm waiting for the climate control unit to come back (next week) and for new gears for the driver's power seat (also next week, hopefully).
Here's the deal:
2002 4Runner Limited - 192,000 miles
Selling my 4Runner since I just don't drive it enough to justify keeping it, and somebody else can get good use out of it. I have only driven it 2000 miles in the last 8 months, so it's time for it to go to a good home.
I bought this in April 2012 from a used car dealer. I ran the VIN on carfax and Toyota owners. It was a one-owner car from southeastern Kansas, and apparently owned by an older couple. They had it serviced at the dealer religiously - oil changes every 3000 to 4000 miles (sometimes a little more), and ALL the Toyota recommended service done. I have the service records for it. When I bought it the mileage was 144,000. It had a slight tear in the driver's seat (which has gotten larger), a couple of very minor dings, never wrecked, and was always garaged. I have the original factory floor mats and cargo mat. It has a CargoLogic aftermarket cargo mat as well. All in great shape. It also has NO RUST, except for a little very light surface rust here and there on the frame and suspension components (it may have rust inside the frame but I can't find any).
I have taken good care of it, but it has been run off-road. I have run down dirt roads (where does one this go?) and Forest Service roads in southwest Missouri. It has never been abused or taken to a 'let's see what we can break today' off-road park. I'm an old guy and take it slow and easy. It has been through some difficult places (I'm always amazed at what it can do) but never broken or mistreated. It did have a lot of pin striping from tree branches (this is the Midwest) but they buffed out and only a few faint lines remain. I repainted the silver trim. I've never had this stuck or used the winch to pull myself out (I did use it to pull a friend's Taco off a fallen tree, and pull a few fallen trees out off the trail). That it's never been stuck is a testament to it's ability, and my caution (or common sense, and the fact that around here it's so rocky there usually isn't enough mud to get stuck). The multi-mode transfer case with LSD is great on snow and ice - just put it in 4WD (AWD) and drive.

Hayden transmission cooler, April 2012, 144K miles
Spark plugs and ignition wires, May 2012, 145K miles
Monroe Gas Matic shocks for LC, April, 2012, 144K miles
Wheeler's Off Road Nitro 9000 front shocks (have 58K miles on them - were on my other 4Runner)
Changed rear diff lube, April 2012, 144K miles
Energy Suspension steering rack bushings, November 2012 (miles unknown, probably about 160K)
Valve Cover Gaskets (though it still seeps, but no drips on the floor)
Fuel filter, July, 2012 (miles unknown, probably about 155K)
Timing Belt and Water Pump kit, thermostat, all belts, using OEM parts, November 2014, 186K miles (previous owner had the dealership do it at 94K)
Sears Die-Hard Platinum (Odyssey) 34M (marine) AGM battery, September 2014, 184K miles
Cooper Discoverer AT3, load range C tires, September 2014, 184K miles (have 8000 miles on them - look brand new)
Replaced the AC/heat blower motor (early 2015)
Oil and filter changes every 3000 miles
Climate control unit just repaired (lifetime warranty)

Detroit True Trac LSD in rear (58k miles on it) - very nice!

Homemade rear bumper with swingout tire carrier. Powdered coated ($275 for that!)

Blue Sea Systems 100 Amp fuse panel
Blue Sea Systems relay panel (1 used, 4 more available)
Hella 500 driving lights (switch is fog lamp switch on turn signal arm)

Alpine AM/FM/CD/Satellite radio (about 1 year old)

The 'issues':
Has 'the tick' (faint rattle) at 2000, 3000, 4000 RPM that nobody can figure out (several threads about that). But it's been doing it for over 40K miles so I doubt it's going to blow up tomorrow.
The driver's seat is torn. (Lifted trucks need running boards or sliders to step up into the truck.) Small tear on passenger seat cushion, visible when door is open.
The power steering pump has been moaning when it's cold lately.
Has 5 small dings that should all come out with paintless dent repair.
This truck drives, handles, runs, and off-roads GREAT! I have driven it to Colorado and back (2000+ miles), and wouldn't be afraid to take it anywhere. It is comfortable, quiet, and capable. I have all the original parts (bumpers, running boards) to go with it as well.
