My antenna is stuck up. It's a common 3rd gen problem I know. My old 97 had the same issue. I can here the motor running but it doesn't go up or down. Does anyone know a good fix?

My auto antenna is broken off. Like every other 3rd gen in the US as I know of, haha. Where did you get your 3rd gen with an auto antenna in tact.

Sounds like the very common problem of a broken antenna mast track. Get new mast, replace old mast. It would be very good to get the old pieces out first. Do your research to get the right mast. I used oem, others on here like a particular ebay seller. Some aftermarket antennas won't work right so I'd bow to their experience. You'll also likely find a write-up in this forum. If not there's a bit of how-to in my build thread (post 2 table of contents w/link). It's not necessary to take it as far down as I did, but it should help if you can't find something better. I also put a switch in so it doesn't run every time the truck gets turned on or off. I don't always need an antenna. 10 years with the new mast so far...

If you don't care but don't want to listen to the motor run every time you turn the truck on or off you can also unplug the motor...

I have the same issue. But at first my antenna worked and my sun roof wouldn't but then my antenna stopped working and my sun roof started working. Any thoughts? I don't want summer coming around and my sunroof getting stuck open

Got mine at the dealer for $20 for my 2nd Gen. When I bought my 3rd gen it was broken so I swapped over the mast and it fit, sold the 2nd without one. Think the procedure was pretty simple, just remove housing and clean out the broken pieces first.

Keep in mind you probably (not guaranteed) have another antenna in your rear passenger window (in the cargo area) If you're happy with that reception then the front one pos just for looks.

I replaced mine and noticed no difference in reception.
