Any bow hunter or target shooter here?

I was just curious on how many people here either hunt or shot league with a bow. If you do please post what kind of bow your shooting with and what accessory you have on there. Also a picture would be nice. I'll post some pictures when my bow finally get here. It been almost 3 weeks and I'm still waiting.

My previous bow was a Mathews DXT in lost camo with a QAD ultra rest, HHA Optimizer lite shooting GT XT hunter pro.

The new bow is a Mathews Triax in stone. Same setup with the accessory but my arrow this year will be Victory VAP or Maxima SD.

I shoot a Hoyt spider. I have never hunted with it. Shooting 3 spot my best score with it has been a 298 with 24 x’s. I usually score in the mid to high 270’s. It has a cheap trophy ridge 5 pin sight and arrow rest that I bought before I knew whether or not I was going to like shooting bows or not and never felt the need to upgrade. I have no clue what make my stabilizer is. I use a true fire release and cheap Easton and Beeman arrows. I have been shooting it for about 4 years now.

Nice set-up!
 
I hunt and shoot 3D. Hunt with a Mathews. The latest is a Z7, but favorite is a Z-Max. I have had the Z-7 since new, but have never really warmed up to it. Its too heavy to carry all day and top heavy so the bubble is always wanting to fall off. I also have an MQ-2, its the long one. My son loves it and is probably/really his at this time.
I love to shoot traditional. Although I hunt mostly with a compound, I have an old bear Tigercat recurve. Always better to learn traditional, and sharpens my skills better. Was looking at a black widow the other day, really nice.

I still shoot a DXT! It's 10 years old and I still love it. I have shot a lot of the bows Mathews has come out in the last 10 years and just haven't been able to justify spending the money on any of the newer bows. HOWEVER, the Triax has gotten my attention in a major way. I really, REALLY like the way they shoot!

I'm thrilled to know there are some fellow archers and bow hunters on the forum! This will be the main way I will utilize my T4, in addition to be one of my daily drivers.
 
I archery hunt, no 3d.

my bow is a Hoyt carbon spyder turbo. its got a ripcord ace micro rest. no stabilizer. the only other accessory I use is a steady form arm brace. I shoot 330 Easton bloodlines, and 100gr, 3 blade muzzys.

my release is a Tru-fire. but not a standard one, mine is an OPEN version. I could never get used to the closed ones. I like my trigger to break like a rifle trigger.

I don't think I have any pics of it though. lol.

I've also learn from a tradition bow and they are fun to shoot. Post a picture of your Tigercat when you have a chance.

The DXT is an awesome bow and it was my first compound bow. I just can't let it sit and collect dust so I've sold it to a co-worker fully loaded with 17 carbon arrow for $300.00. You sold try out the Triax it is a smooth shooting bow. I've ended up up buying one that same day.

That a nice set up you have on the Spyder. Snap a couple of pics using your cell phone. I'm a newb when it comes to archery but wonder if they have 2 stage release? Kind of like a Geissele ssa-e trigger.

I may have an old cell pic floating around, i'll look.

as to the release, its a standard trigger. pretty basic actually. it breaks clean and opens instantly. whereas with the CLOSED triggers, you have a LONG trigger pull, as the jaws slowly open, until they are far enough to let the string out.

I don't have the Tigercat anymore. Went to the range yesterday, the elk were thick on our archery range. Guess they know we can't hunt there.

Bow season in Wisconsin started already but I haven't had time to do anything. Keep us updated if you get anything. Have fun!
 
Man you guys have some nice stuff! I'm a hunter. Just have a cheap-o Bear bow. 65lbs with 29in draw. Just started getting things sighted and prepped. Season here in MD started a few of weeks ago, but it's been pretty warm. I'll get out in the next couple weeks hopefully.
 
I'm planning a whitetail hunt in Nebraska this season. However, looks like Carpel tunnel surgery first. So not sure if I will be able to shoot or not. I shot our range this week, and it was hard to shoot. Hope the surgery helps.
 
Decided to get back into crossbow archery and hopefully hunting eventually. Just purchased an Excalibur Micro Suppressor and an Assassin, ordered a dozen Tapps from Jerry @ South Shore, on my way...
 
I have a PSE Evolve, 28 inch draw, 70 pounds, 295 FPS on the chrono. I am also shooting Easton carbon UA arrows (8.8 GPI), 100 gr Montec broadheads. I don't target shoot other than to keep me fresh. I mostly hunt. Running the HHA optimizer lite, with a Matthews stabilizer. (Don't ask how that ended up being the best for my PSE). I deer, elk, and hog hunt with my bow though.
 
I shoot a bow tech carbon knight and have killed deer with it. It is a great challenge and a lot of fun.
