Any Motorcycle riders on here?

My 2008 SV650. Doesn't get ridden nearly as much anymore as I'm trying to stick to the track. As Denver gets more and more crowded, the fun twisties are ruined by the gawking transplants that don't watch the road or drive waaay below the speed limit.
Nice bike. I bet it's really great scenery riding in Colorado. Is it really that crowded now? Could you ride in a less touristy area that is still good riding?

Thanks. ANY road within 2-3 hours of Denver is ridiculously crowded. Locals know to avoid touristy places in the summer/ fall, but there are SO many people in Denver now, that everyone "escapes" to the same places. Squaw Pass used to be my "go-to" to avoid the crowds... but it's been overrun with cyclists this year. Even on weekdays.
Because of this, Ive been considering a cruiser for longer rides... but I'm moving back to the South next spring, so I'm just sticking to the track while I'm out here.

I know what you mean about crowded. We just moved from the Houston area to east Texas. Much less crowded. I'm thinking about selling my Voyager and getting a little lighter bike, due to age and health issues. Where in the "south" are you moving to?

85% of the entire state of Colorado lives in the 120 miles between Fort Collins and Colorado Springs. And its growing every day. Houston is bad too, but Denver didn't/doesn't have the infrastructure to support the population explosion it had a few years ago. (Think Austin, TX). The population isn't really the problem, it's the congestion.
I'll most likely end up in Charleston, SC... but I'll be happy pretty much anywhere as long as I'm near water.

My chicken strips are about 1/2".
This thing is really fun in the twisties, and can keep me happy on 300+ mile day trips. It's a 2007, and has 145 bhp, and 99 lb/ft of torque. BUT, it weights 650 pounds wet.
No worries from me, it's plenty quick/fast enough for me on public roads.

I really need to test ride one of these Yamaha bikes. I'd like to compare to a BMW R1200RT.My chicken strips are about 1/2".

Picked this up in Oregon a few days ago.
2008 WR250R. It's actually my third 2008 WR250R... sold the last one before we moved out of state a few months ago. This one is set up pretty much exactly the same; skid plate, larger tank, aluminum bars, Cycras (not on it in the pic), pegs, some other off roady stuff...
