Paid 85, everything I’ve seen since seems that’s either about right or a sweet deal. Just happy he drove up from Birmingham to meet me in Knoxville.
Everyone’s pumped for the 800, which I am too, but nothing will replace the torque of that LC8 plant. I bet it specs shy of the 950, and FI? The 950 is such a beast already, FI would just grease that lightning.
There is only ONE beast, and it's name starts with 1290!

I've had a 990 SD for several years now.
When running, it's an awesome bike.
I had 3 KTMs at one time, when this one is sold I'll have one. The one I started with.
I'll never sell it.
I'll never buy another.

I hear you on that. The 950 SE is a blast... when it runs LOL. Ive had 3 water pump impellers in mine, and im afraid to ride it anywhere far, because im afraid it will leave me stranded.
The 690 and the 1290 SDR are awesome though. Never had any issues.

I would love a 1290, I just can't bring myself to do it.
Don't want to deal with it. Trust me, I get the "Ready to Race" thing and the bikes are so much fun.
Then, they get buggy, take forever to troubleshoot and so on.
I have a buddy with a 690, he's had if for several years.
I don't think it's run more than a month or two at a time before it driving some poor tech crazy trying to fix it.
My Super Tenere is a lot slower than the 990, but it's reliable as a stone ax and the valve adjustments are every 26K.

My first and probably only bike. It has been a lot of fun. A lot of low end torque, but not the most comfortable for riding 2 up.

150 mile loop
About 1/4 dirt, the rest mountain twistys. One water crossing that surprised us. With the draught, I expected about a foot of water, but it well over 2 ft deep. But all in all a very nice day. Oops, just realized I didn't down load the pix yet. :frusty:

Fun bike. It was great for the city commute to work and a ride around the county roads, but I did a 3hr ride and my butt was killing me.

Look into padded bicycle shorts. There are motorcycle specific shorts that I wear for street, dirt and while snowmobiling. They really help.
