Any negatives to 2/1 Cornfed???

I'm considering a 2/1 lift for my 06 SE, mostly just for looks. I plan to keep it for many years.

Any downside to the spacer lift (ie added stress to suspension, CV's, etc...)????

Please comment, especially if you've had a spacer lift for several years.

I can only think of positives such as setting your 4runner different from all the "Mom takings kids to soccer game 4 runner." more than half of the people I see in 4runner are moms! Yish! High ground clearance meaning less likely to damage the body. More importantly, it's hell of a lot sexier with lift and bigger all-terrain tires. It's the cheapest way to lift your 4runner and only way to keep X-REAS intact if you have them.

Negative stuff: It'll be tough on your shock if you off road reguarly. A bit stiff ride which some likes since it'll drive like a truck and some don't if they have a soft butt. I used to drive a POS car with like no shocks, so it won't bother me. To me, it's all about putting more testosterone into the truck and makin it look sexy. Oh, and SOME Toyota dealers will give you sh*ts if you go in for some warranty repair.

It all depends on what your drivings needs are. But, I say go for it. Best mod for its money. Especially, if you're not an off-road addict. I got 3/2 cornfed kit on its way. I just need to find someone to install it in this asphalt hell region.

There is not a soccer mom out there not driving some type of SUV , crossover or what ever.

I thought the 2/1 lift rode about the same as stock. you will still can only fit 265/70/17's on it like you can stock. Even with the 3/2 lift you can still only fit the 265's unless you trim your fenderwell.

That Daystar lift that JA put on his truck has a nice stance to it.

Though they all look nice I'm just going to do a front 1" leveling lift . I just drive to much on road and I should not be effected by the off road flex with just the 1" front.

I read here that the altering of the rear with a spacer makes the rear rides harsh ? Not sure though.

Numerous users reported that it does indeed make rear a bit harsh on bumps, but most times, it drives normally, just a bit higher profile. Remember to adjust the headlight since it'll blind others and after about 500miles or so, to retorque all the bolts to ensure safety. I belive springs eventually sag too. But, that's like way down the road. Around the time for you too swap it for better shocks!
