Anybody had problems with vinyl wrap before ?

Looking to wrap my roof black and possibly the fenders. Wanted to know if anybody had problems with vinyl wrap long term wise ? Like 2+ years. Only asking because when I had my Lexus and put on a trunk spoiler with just 3M double sided tape. Little over a year later I went to take it off and the paint peeled off with it. I know it wasn't vinyl wrap but just wanted to make sure it won't damage the paint in the long run.

My vehicle is parked outdoors so will be getting a lot of sun.

Honestly, the roof is the last place you want to leave a vinyl wrap in the sun for years. The sun will bake it right on and make it impossible to remove. You'll lose paint (and years from your life) trying to get it off.
It's common for tall promo vehicles to have everything but the roof wrapped for this reason - nobody will see the roof and it's not worth the expense of trying to get that vinyl off once the graphic has outlived its usefulness.
If you can avoid wrapping the roof, do yourself a favor and do something else - a roof rack or something....
