I built my own, but on the left side so I could still use the cubby hole. I used a slim mount 10" so that it would sit even with the tire hump, and found some tan carpet for cheap on eBay:

Yea, that's all fine and dandy, but I think you're missing the point here. The real issue at hand is that my truck is packed full on a day to day basis and there really is NO spare room for even a box of that size in my truck.
That exposed sub wouldn't last a week.
This thread has nothing to do with boxes of any kind unless it fits under a 4runner seat.

This interests me as well. I'm the same way. Gear stuffed top to bottom on a semi daily basis. I like the idea of the all in one unit. Seems clean and easy.

i have one of these under my drivers seat. slim subwoofer I too have a manual seat and it fits good. Sounds ok for what it is.. I am used to my Accord with a JL stealthbox..

there was an individual who buolt one INTO his cubby in the back. Mounted a 10" in there, IIRC. I can't, for the lift of me, find this guy or the post, so if ANYONE on here know's him, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have him get a hold of me. I'd love to look through the post again and see how he did it, and would love to know what he thinks of his set up.

I should have bought a Tacoma for wanting to use my cargo space in my T4R? I'm not sure how that's relevant at all.

The sub I purchased is pretty straight forward, easy to set up and fits perfectly under the drivers side seat with no mods what so ever.
I know this is a car audio question, but I am really curious how many of you 3rd gen guys out there have upgraded their car audio, but have not compromised their cargo space.
I use my cargo space on a daily basis and have no interest in adding a box with external amp. I'm looking for opinions on an out of the way, under seat and self amplified unit. I don't need to be heard from blocks away, as I am looking for better in car quality sound.
There are so many choices out there. I would like to hear from you who have run a sub this way and what you like and dislike about your "stealthy" systems.

Project no box has arrived!
It's been here for a couple weeks, but I'm finally getting time to put it in this weekend. It's not a huge brand name or anything, but for the price I got it for (under $150 shipped), I don't care.
No crazy bass pounding setup by any means. I had a factory 6" under my STi seat and that sounded just fine. This 8" will be even better.
Features:
-8" woofer
-self amplified
-300w peak
-adjustable bass control knob
-less than 3" thick
-out of sight, out of mind under seat mounting
I will be hooking it up through my rear speakers. Leaving the factory deck in place.
