Yes, upper and lower cross bars are interchangeable.
I moved the one upper one (that was in the from factory location) down to the lower so all four are on the lower rails.

Very curious to see how people are using these racks. Kayaks/boxes/etc...
Is there a weight limit on these racks? I have a 19’ Pro and want to get a cargo box, but someone posted max load is 110lbs, but I do not see anything about that in the owners manual? Anyone running a cargo box, or anything weighing ~ 100lbs on the lower placed bars w/o the tube section toward the rear, placing the box lower in height for getting in and out of the garage?
Also curious how people are mounting Kayaks!

Yes the max weight is 110, and I'd bet that is static because (at least to me) the rack seemed flimsy as all heck. It's not listed in the owner's manual, but it's stamped on the attachment point on the rack itself. The rack itself + all hardware only weighs 26 lbs total. the larger height of this rack would make mounting a cargo box difficult from the diameter of the tubes, to the obviously ridiculous height with which you'd end up.

I posted this on another thread, but honestly I don't like how high it sits with a large portion of the weight on the front crossbar. Yes, I could have moved more of the bottom crossbars up to evenly distribute the weight, but I really don't want to have to to that.

Look good. Thanks. I have a couple of J racks that I use with the standard roof rails and cross bars. I’ll have to put a couple cross bars on the top section of the rack for that. I guess it will just sit a couple inches higher that it did on my ORP.

I'd imagine that j racks on the very top of the pro rack, holding a kayak, would be ludicrously tall!

It sits up pretty high. Luckily, I’m tall enough to toss them up there. I use a step ladder to secure the straps. My vehicles keep getting taller and I keep getting older. I can see a kayak trailer in my future

Yeah I forget you're probably using singles. Those are much much easier to handle. My oldest is turing seven soon so we've always used a double. That was a pita to get up there from the rear- I was always worried about destroying the spoiler.

Yeah, I really think I’m gonna get a kayak trailer. I like the Yakima rack and roll as it folds up and stores easily in the garage. I definitely wouldn’t be able to toss a double up there.

Yeah, sorry didn't quote it. But thanks, seen that before a while back an hadn't seen it since. Really like it. Might be my next rack upgrade after I see what use I can get out of the TRDP basket/rack.
