Anyone change the FOB and Security computer in their 4runner?

So i have a 97 4runner sr5. Im gonna buy a remote for my keyless entry, it has the system installed and i know it works. My questions is has anyone ever taken the computer for the security and the fob from a 98 or newer and installed it in their 97 or older?

My reasoning for this is that i want the rear window remote button so i can roll it down with my fob. If anyone has done this or knows hpw it can be done or if it can be done at all please let me know. Im gonna go this weekend and get the computer and fob for it if it can be done.

If you're talking about the stock keyless entry, not the alarm setup, there is no computer really...

It's all just part of the wiring harness.

I think your approach would be a lot more work than it would be worth.

Have you considered an aftermarket alarm? You can get the rear window down like that fairly easily...
