So then by that logic.. I cannot buy a vehicle if there are things I don't like about it???
I bought my 4Runner under the Preferred Pricing Program. The deal I received was far greater than the lack of power... and the savings will pay for a supercharger when avail in CA.
I had a 3.slow in my 89 with 32's.............my 5th Gen is a monster by comparison!:whoo:
I think it's a tuning and transmission/throttle mapping problem opposed to an engine capability problem in the Taco. I had a Sienna 3.5 rental last year and that thing would pull like a tractor. I had 7 adults in it one day and everyone was surprised how fast it would jump to hwy speed. I haven't driven a 3rd gen Taco yet. I know my 5th gen 4.0 won't produce any real power until well into the 3k rpm range in 4hi/AWD (Limited). 4Lo is fun when I get to use it and the throttle map produces more torque in the lower rpm range.I had 1 myself, the 3.slow had more torque down low than my traded 2017 taco lol. The 4.0 could use some more torque down low but it isnt horrible like that new 3.5l.
The Landcruiser is heavier than a Tundra, not lighter
There aren't any 4.10's for a 5th gen?!....would be great to have. Is there an Inchworm or Marlin reduction box for the 5th?
100% agreed, the transmission gear ratio was horrible. I couldnt even use the 6th gear unless I was headed down hill or 95mph. The jump between 3rd and 4th was huge and ruined it, 1st gear was tall enough to keep up with a 3 on the tree 2nd gear. Horrible execution, even with the 456 gearing of the diff.I think it's a tuning and transmission/throttle mapping problem opposed to an engine capability problem in the Taco. Good lord y'all are difficult to please. No matter what came out, most of y'all would hate all over it, claim your aftermarket setup on the lowest end model is far superior and then would still find something wrong.
We get it, you own a Toyota 4R, but you hate everything about them. Why, why did you ever buy one if all you do is complain that the TRDP is too expensive, the engine sucks, the audio sucks, the wheel offset is lame and so on and so on?
Here'e the thing, you all really want a built out overlanding Land Cruiser - so, get off your ass, make more money and go buy one and leave us lowly 4Runner owners to slug around in our inferior vehicles.
This forum used to be great 8 years ago when I got my first 5th Gen, everyone was so helpful and loved their rigs, now it's just another online troll forum full of haters who are never satisfied with anything they ever have.

Anybody got a comparison picture of cavalry blue vs voodoo blue ? Is voodoo blue darker ? Tried to search on google but seems to show cavalry blue unless I'm getting myself mixed up.
