Anyone ever get crap stuck behind your water pump pulley?

I switch the belt and pulleys on my V6 this past summer. All was good till about a week ago when I started hearing a bad grinding and rattling noise. I used my stethescope and narrowed it down to the WP pulley. I removed the belt and pulley and sure enough there was a stone behind it. At 166k i thought the WP was going out, nope. Anyone else have sonething like this happen?

actually, it wasn't. car gets used some each week. little old lady owner. this is the result of one red squirrel and one bumper crop of nuts from a nearby tree. it was unbelievable. the nuts were stuffed all the way through the air intake, through the filter system and into the blower fan. the resistor for the fan blew out, that is how i discovered the nut problem. this was last Fall.
