i plan to build one soon. i'm trying to figure out how much weight the stock rails can support. i have heard that the standard roof rack can hold 300 lbs. that just won't do. lol
i'm building a full roof rack. but does anyone have this info for me? i want to stand on my roof. lol but really, needs to support kayaks, gear, fire wood, and well whatever else i want to put up there.

screw Gobi and their outrageous prices! lol. i know lots of these guys have limited metal fab skills and unlimited money so they just buy from places like gobi.. but for real that crap is over priced. lolol

what i need is for the great Scramble to tell me how much weight the rails mounted to the truck can hold. i'm gonna need to know that right now too. hahahah!!!

because i plan to build a tank of a rack and then strap an actual tank on top of that rack to take camping and shit.
reals... need to know.

In my opinion was a very poor move . It has clearly dampened their reputation in this community I myself won't consider buying a rack from them . They are a well established company making tons of products for nearly all vehicles whitson was a one man garage operation making a couple different racks two that I know of . Really shitty to wipe him out . Especially now anyone who wanted a whitson before that finds out what Gobi did I'd imagine would likely not buy from Gobi because of this . Not like they gained customers. Asshats ....

Josh from WMW always advertised 600lbs. I've had 400-500 on mine without an issue. The stock roof is what will fail before a WMW rack.

Josh is the sole employee of WMW and he made amazing roof racks. He did so and started to grow his business because of the high quality work and affordable prices. Then gobi decided that he was becoming a threat to their multi-million dollar business and they decided to sue him for patent fraud. Being only 1 person against a company he just couldn't afford to fight the case. He would spend all of his money while they would spend pennies to fight him in court. So basically they ran him out of business. Was he actually doing something illegal? Possibly, but I'm sure it could have been handled differently and he may have been able to continue doing business. Josh had my business and I stand by him and will never purchase gobi. There is a thread somewhere around here that goes into more detail if you care to find it.

Looks like I found my rack. It's not the wmw rack but price I feel is fair and it has the same look. Let me know what you guys think.
